What Brought Me to the Local Church, M.L.

I've been a Christian since August 1946, and have always desired to have God's best. In 1972 our youngest daughter got a visa to visit New Zealand for two years. While there she met believers in the local church and she strongly urged me and her mother to visit the meetings of the local church where we lived, but of course I had many questions to ask. During our visits to the church in Dallas however, we heard many truths and even tried to share them where we were still meeting, but to no avail. Our other two children also visited the local church and had a witness in their spirit that the ministry there was deeper and richer than anything they had ever heard. They were really encouraging us, the parents, to cut loose from where we were meeting and to go for it (the local church).

Praise the Lord for His great mercy to us for opening our eyes to see God's purpose for the church today. God doesn't save us just to take us to heaven, but He wants a people to express Him on earth today. In 1976 we found our home in the local church and are home to stay. We and our whole family, with the grandchildren, are enjoying the riches in the local church today.

What I desired in the beginning was to have God's best, and He has made this available to me in the local church. Praise Him.
